behind the OHM
meet Salma
Ngakma • Mantrika • Psycho-Somatic Therapist • Medicina
Salma is a multidisciplinary practitioner, ordained Ngakma (non-monastic Lama in Buddhist tradition), Mantrika (ritual master of mantra), and trauma-informed psycho-somatic therapist.
Her work draws from over a decade of embodied study and practice, rooted in:
Psycho-somatic trauma-release therapeutics
Emotional psychology and movement-based integration
Buddhist and Taoist energetics and theory
Bodywork, breath-work, and nervous system regulation & integration
Yoga philosophies and Vedic applications
Reiki, Psychomagick, Tarot, and Multi-lineage Shamanism teachings

A core part of Salma’s path has been the unmasking process that followed her recognition as a neurodivergent being—a journey that mirrored, in many ways, the deep excavation of trauma healing and relational therapy. Through this lens, she began to see how much of our suffering comes from the ways we contort ourselves to belong, rather than allowing ourselves to be fully met.
Her offerings reflect a lived understanding that healing is less about striving to “fix” ourselves and more about unlearning, unmasking, and remembering who we truly are—beyond coping, beyond roles, beyond conditioning.
And at the centre of all of it lies our most fundamental human need: connection.
A Letter to You
Everything I offer is rooted in lived experience.
My own work has been a layered journey—one of unravelling core trauma patterns, reclaiming identity, and learning how to be with all parts of myself.
From childhood neglect, many types of assault, to a lifetime of being undiagnosed and unsupported, I’ve triumphed over each experience through grit, devotion, and active practice to rewire and unlearn aspects of myself that adapted in order to protect, guard, and keep me safe from any more harm.
It wasn’t “easy”, “light” or flowery, this work is deep down in the mud type shit. The type that turns shit into fertiliser.

The discovery of my neurodivergence was a pivotal moment. It reframed years of self-questioning and revealed just how much I’d been masking to survive; finally understanding and learning a language within this work that suited the adaptations I needed to make.

That unmasking process—like trauma healing—isn’t linear. It’s tender, disorienting, liberating, and deeply human.
And it’s shown me that healing isn’t about arriving anywhere. It’s about remembering.
Remembering how to be in our bodies.
Remembering that we are wired for connection.
Remembering that we don’t have to do it all alone.
My practice combines the science of the nervous system with the soul of spiritual tradition.
It’s practical and playful.
Fierce and soft. Devotional and deeply human.
Through somatics, ritual, and relationship, I offer spaces where people can feel safe enough to shed the layers they’ve outgrown.
We unlearn. We rewire. We remember.
Whether you are a woman, a man, or if you choose to be known as other.
If you’re a fellow member of the LGBTQ+ community, from any background, faith, religion, or culture, you are welcome here.
You’re now invited to step into acceptance of all that you are.
To be witnessed, acknowledged, supported, and given the tools so that YOU are in charge of your own healing and development.
If you’re ready to show up with honesty, I’ll meet you there—with reverence, truth, and unwavering care.
Let’s begin.
a little story…
I’m often asked what OHM represents—and the story is threefold.
First, it’s rooted in my heritage-given last name, Othman—which also means dragon cub in Arabic. A quiet nod to where I come from, and the ancestral fire that fuels the path I walk as a yogini, healer, and guide.
Second, when spoken aloud, OHM mirrors AUM—the resounding vibration of creation itself. A sound that connects breath, presence, and the universal hum beneath it all.
And third, there’s Ohm’s Law—the scientific principle that measures resistance within an electric current. To me, it speaks to the inner work: noticing the blocks and patterns that limit our natural flow, and learning how to liberate ourselves from them so energy—life—can move freely again. A subtle bow to my love of wordplay, and the parallels between physics and the psyche.
I wish I could say I orchestrated it all with poetic brilliance—but honestly, OHM Illuminated arrived through a blend of coincidence, kismet, and that sweet spot where sincerity meets silliness.
